This policy covers the Pinch waitlist and this website only. The Pinch application — the product you sign into and connect accounts to — has its own privacy policy covering financial data, which you will be asked to read and agree to when you start using it. Nothing here describes how the application handles your accounts or transactions; that document does.
Who we are
BYTESIZE, LLC, a Virginia limited liability company operating as Pinch, is the data controller for the information described below.

What we collect
When you join the waitlist, we collect two things, both because you typed them in:
- Your email address, so that we can confirm it and send you an invite.
- A name, so that we can address you properly. This is a single free-form field — whatever you would like to be called. We do not ask for, and have no use for, your legal name.
If you ask to be considered for early beta access, we also record that you asked and whatever you chose to tell us about your setup: roughly how many institutions and accounts you have, what kinds they are, which banks or brokerages you would connect, what you use to track your money today, how often you look at it, and whether your accounts are held in the United States. Every one of these answers is optional, none of them is a balance, a transaction or a credential, and we use them for one purpose: choosing who to invite to the beta first. They are stored with your waitlist record and deleted with it.
When you visit the site, we collect anonymous, aggregate usage statistics through Cloudflare Web Analytics. This does not use cookies, does not fingerprint your browser, and does not follow you to other websites. It tells us things like how many people read a page — never who they were.
Your browser stores your theme preference (light or dark) on your own device so the site looks the way you chose when you come back. This never leaves your device and we never see it. You can clear it by clearing your browser’s site data.
Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes your IP address in the ordinary course of serving the page and protecting the site from abuse. This is a technical necessity of being on the internet rather than something we collect for our own purposes.
What we do not collect
We do not use advertising trackers, marketing pixels, or social media widgets. We do not build a profile of you beyond what you typed into the form yourself. We do not buy information about you from anyone else, and we do not sell, rent, or trade your information to anyone, for any purpose. There is no third party paying us for access to you.
Why we are allowed to hold it
Your consent. You gave it explicitly by ticking an unticked box, and you can withdraw it at any time — see Your choices below. Withdrawing consent does not make our earlier use of your information unlawful, but it stops us using it from that point.
Who else sees it
Two categories of company, both acting on our instructions and neither permitted to use your information for their own purposes:
- Our infrastructure provider, Cloudflare, which serves this website, stores the waitlist in its database service, and sends the confirmation and invite emails on our behalf through its email service (from mail.pinch.cash).
We will not disclose your information to anyone else unless the law requires it of us.
How long we keep it
Until one of these happens, whichever comes first:
- You ask us to delete it, or unsubscribe.
- Pinch launches and you have had a reasonable opportunity to accept your invite.
- We abandon the waitlist, in which case we delete it.
We are not going to sit on a list of email addresses indefinitely for a product that never shipped.
Your choices
You can, at any time and without giving a reason:
- Ask what we hold about you, and get a copy.
- Ask us to correct it if it is wrong.
- Ask us to delete it. We will, and you will come off the waitlist.
- Withdraw your consent, which has the same practical effect as deletion.
- Unsubscribe, using the link in any email we send you.
Email privacy@pinch.cash and we will action it. We do not require you to justify the request or speak to anyone first.
Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. If you are in the UK that is the Information Commissioner’s Office; in the EU it is your national supervisory authority.
Where your information goes
Our providers may store and process your information in countries other than the one you live in, including the United States. Where information leaves the UK or European Economic Area, our providers use the safeguards required by law for such transfers.
Children
This waitlist is not for children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has joined, email us and we will remove them.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that materially affects you before launch, we will tell you by email rather than quietly editing this page. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
The application has its own privacy policy, which covers a great deal more than this one does; you will be asked to agree to it when you start using Pinch.
