Terms

Last updated

These terms cover joining the Pinch waitlist and using this website. They do not cover the Pinch application, which is not yet available. When it launches you will be asked to agree to separate terms of service before you can use it — agreeing to these does not commit you to those, and does not commit us to offering them to you on any particular footing.

What joining the waitlist is

An expression of interest, and permission for us to email you about it. That is the whole of it.

What joining the waitlist is not

Being clear about this up front is better for both of us:

  • It is not a guarantee of access. We intend to invite everyone on the list, but we are opening in batches and we may not reach everyone.
  • It is not a place in a queue you can rely on. We may invite people in an order that suits how we are testing the product, not strictly in the order you joined.
  • It is not a commitment to a date. We do not know when your invite will arrive, and any timeline we mention is an intention, not a promise.
  • It is not a price. Pinch will be a paid product with no free tier. Pricing is not final and is not published yet. Nothing on this website is an offer, and nothing here obliges us to charge you any particular amount.
  • It is not an account. Nothing has been created for you, and there is nothing for you to log into.

What we ask of you

Only this:

  • Use an email address you control. Do not sign up someone else. Because we confirm every address before adding it to the list, signing up a stranger mostly wastes your own time — but do not do it anyway.
  • Do not attack the site. No attempting to break, overload, probe, or gain unauthorised access to it or to any system behind it.
  • Do not automate signups. One person, one address, entered by hand.

If you do these things we will remove you from the list and may block your access.

Confirming your address

When you join, we send a confirmation email. You are not on the waitlist until you click the link in it. If you never confirm, you will not receive an invite, and we will eventually delete the unconfirmed record. This is deliberate: it protects people from being signed up by others, and it keeps our email from being treated as spam.

Leaving

Unsubscribe from any email we send you, or email us and ask. There is no process to go through and we will not ask you to justify it.

This website

We provide this website as it is. We try to keep it accurate and available, but we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that everything described on it will ship exactly as described. Pinch is a product under development, and features described here may change before launch.

Everything on this site — the text, the design, the Pinch and Penny names — is ours, and remains ours.

Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Beyond that: this is a free waitlist for a product you are not yet using. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of this website or from being — or not being — on the waitlist. We are particularly not liable for any decision you make in anticipation of Pinch launching.

Changes

We may change these terms before launch. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you by email. The date at the top always reflects the current version.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION], and the courts of [JURISDICTION] have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. This does not remove any protection you have under the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in.
